Awards
The yearbook has won many awards over the years. Some recent awards were received from the Missouri Press Association. The MPA is affiliated with Missouri Collegiate Media Association (MCMA) and holds an annual contest for media submissions. Evangel submits the Excalibur and the Lance and receives distinguished awards from the association. Some of the awards include top three finishes for Portrait Design, Feature Photography, Theme Development, and Sports Photography.

The Excalibur is so much more than a yearbook, and yet that is what it is called.  Basically, it is the school year on paper, but as student advisor Nancy Pace-Miller eloquently put it, “The Excalibur is the official memory book for Evangel University."

Putting together the yearbook is about 12 students publishing a thematic, pictorial account of the academic school year, capturing as many memories as possible in a 224-page bound book.   Excalibur, as one of the student media, has been one of the main stays on this campus since the beginning years of the university.

The yearbook is a tradition.  It is a memory book for any given year, but at the same time, it is an historical document for the university – reflecting current students, culture of the times, and administrative leadership. However you choose to describe it, the Excalibur is an important part of Evangel University and something that students and faculty alike can be very proud of.
