The staff meets weekly with the Advisor and Editors to discuss assignments for the week and to go over the progress of the book and to get feedback. These meetings help keep us all organized so we can be more productive on work nights.
Deadline nights are always really stressful! There are a lot of details and work that go into making each page.

A minute with Ashley Boos... |
What is your job on the Excalibur staff? I am the layout editor. I handle design elements of the book (Excalibur) and the placing and choosing of pictures (for it). I’m mainly involved with all the design having to do with the book.
How long have you been on staff for Excalibur? This is my first year on Excalibur staff.
What do you like most about your job as layout editor? The group of people I work with. We all work together as a team, which is a nice thing to have at college.
What do you like least about your job as layout editor? The grid system. It is the most tedious part of my job because of having to stick to rule lines.
Is your job as layout editor what you expected? Well, there are some things I did not expect that ended up becoming an issue.
What were some things you did not expect with your job as layout editor? Being in the lab until 3 a.m. in the morning during the first semester (of my job as layout editor). Also, I didn't expect it (layout editor) to be as fun as it is.
What challenges have you faced in your job as layout editor? Finding pictures, and good pictures that everyone agrees on. We have a lot of pictures, but not necessarily the right one.
How are you going to feel when the Excalibur is done? Very excited.
How will you celebrate the end of working on the Excalibur? Go home with my stipend and celebrate it well. Then, pray that everything goes well for everyone’s sake and mortality.
