Temple's job additionally includes writing articles, taking photos and assisting with page layouts. During these tasks she works closely with the news, feature and sports editors to determine content each week.

As editor, Temple is goal-oriented. Once one task is successfully reached she is driven to advance to the next. She is motivated by people with corresponding passions. In the work station, her expectations are made clear. She doesn't want people to perform below their skill level because she knows the potential of each staff member. In return, the staff members know she is always available as she helps them reach their potential.

"As a journalism major, the Lance is the best organization on campus to be involved in. The Lance provides a real world experience; the writing and the deadlines are all real. We operate as close to a real newspaper as possible," Temple said.
